I get to visit some cracking London party venues with my job as a documentary-syle London event photographer, and London Zoo on a summer’s evening has got to be one of the most fun. All the crowds have gone home and you’ve got the place to yourselves to enjoy a champagne reception, some delicious nibbles, and party with your friends.
But the best bit, for me anyway and I reckon for all the kids too, is the up-close and personal interaction with some of the Zoo’s beautiful animals inhabitants, guided by the fantastic zookeepers. This time round my clients had booked a private show in the penguin enclosure, which has got to be my favourite so far – penguins are awesome! And the kids went absolutely wild for them, pressing themselves right up against the glass as they swam by and came up to the surface to squeak hello.
The other reason I love the London Zoo as a summer party venue is all the buckets of gorgeous natural light I get to work with, roaming around finding all those happy faces and special little moments documentary style. Those are my favourite photos to make and to enjoy afterwards, and this party was packed full of moments like these. A fantastic evening out for everyone!
