I was commissioned by the events team at The Science Museum to photograph two of their event spaces during an event for one of their clients. The brief was to capture the branding and decor opportunities, some of the pre-event setup, and what a drinks reception in Space and seated dinner in Illuminate looks like for 200 guests.
Space at The Science Museum is their space exhibit on the west side of the building, so the opposite end to the main entrance, but accessible directly from Queen’s Gate. Ironically considering the subject matter it’s a very atmospheric space arranged around several key exhibits – a large ‘moon’ they can project logos onto, and some spacecraft. A bar is set up near the entrance, and laminate graphics can be placed on the floors and on walls on the path to the Illuminate space, as well as the elevator walls and digital displays around the museum.
After a drinks reception in Space guests are invited to travel upstairs in the lifts to Illuminate. This space is spread across two floors, and the guests for this event were using the upper floor for dinner with a panoramic window that offers fantastic London skyline views.
Here’s some of my favourite event images of Space and Illuminate at The Science Museum in use for a corporate awards night. If you’re looking for London event venue photography to market your own space please don’t hesitate to get in touch to check availability and request a personalised quote.
