How it works when you book me for your London event photography

If it's your first time booking a London event photographer, don't worry! Let me walk you through the process, and if you have any questions please do ask.

Booking

Tell me what you need from your event photography

Let me know the key event details: date, location, what times you need me, and as much as you can about the event itself - what's the occasion, who's coming, and what's happening? If I'm available on your date I'll prepare a tailored quote and we can take it from there.

If you're not sure how long you need event photography for just let me know and we'll look at the options together before booking.

What happens on the day of your event?

I'll get to the venue early to say hello and have a look around, then for most events you can forget about me and enjoy yourselves.

My reportage-style event photography means I fit in around you looking for moments that tell the story: speeches and presentations, lots of happy faces, and details that tie it all together.

For corporate parties you might like some leadership group shots, and for a birthday maybe some family groups, but otherwise there's no need to spend the whole thing posing for me.

Delivery

How do you receive your finished event photography?

After the event I'll start selecting and editing the photographs, and everything's usually finished within 2-4 working days. As one of my London event photography clients you'll receive your very own private online gallery full of all the finished photos.

From there you'll be able to browse the photos on any device, download everything as JPGs in both original high-res and web-size formats, and order museum-quality prints. And you're welcome to share the gallery link with anyone you want - friends, family, guests, or colleagues.

Frequently asked questions about my London event photography

If you have a question I've not answered here, please do ask and I'll be happy to help.

How much does event photography cost?

My London event photography fees are based on where and when you need me, and how long for. Start with up to two hours photography, editing & licensing, digital delivery, public liability insurance, and London travel, from £350 - £440 plus VAT.

How do we book you for event photography?

First get in touch with a few details - hopefully I'm available, and I'll send a quote by email. If it sounds good I'll send a link to book it online. There's a booking agreement we both sign, and new clients may be asked to pay a deposit depending on the event date. And then your date's reserved and you're all booked in!

How far in advance should we book you?

In general enquiries tend to be around 2-4 months in advance. For big seasonal events such as Christmas, popular dates are often booked up over a year in advance. And Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings are always the most popular, all year round. Please note a higher minimum booking may apply for popular dates booked a long time in advance.

How long should we book you for?

It depends what you're planning, I'm happy to help if you're not sure. For most events I recommend I'm there for arrivals to get those lovely greeting moments. Then for a small social gathering up to two hours is often enough. Three to four hours suits medium to large parties with a few distractions during the evening. Dinner parties that start with a drinks reception and end with dancing suit five or six hours if you'd like to get a bit of everything.

When do we get our photos back?

For most events and parties it takes 2-4 working days to edit and deliver your photographs. When they're ready you'll receive a link to your own private online gallery you can share with friends, guests, and colleagues. And I've got some priority delivery options if you need them.

How many photos will we get?

Every event is different so it depends what you have planned, but usually there's around 60-80 finished photos per hour. Smaller parties, fewer photos; bigger parties - you get the idea!

Do you do portraits during the event?

I specialise in candid, authentic event photography so I don't tend to go round asking everyone for posed flash-lit snaps like you see in the press. Of course, if anyone asks me for one as I'm passing that's absolutely fine! And if you'd like to do a few group shots let me know in advance and we'll work out the best time to do them (usually at the start). Or for branding wall portraiture I can often provide a second photographer to cover that while I shoot the party.

Can we get prints?

You'll love your photos even more when they're printed! You can order premium-quality prints, frames, and even Thank You cards from your gallery, or for the very best experience I'll design a bespoke lay-flat album using all your favourites. And of course you're welcome to make your own prints and albums from the digital files.

Can you provide video, or a photo booth?

I specialise in event photography so I don't have a photo booth or offer videography. But I'm happy to introduce my booked clients to some great photo-booth companies, videographers, and other event services including magicians, string quartets, and bands.

What about cancellations and postponements?

These are handled on a case-by-case basis. Generally, for cancellations the reservation fee is non-refundable to cover the costs of reserving the date, and depending on the notice given there may be a further fee payable. For postponements I may be able to transfer some of the fees paid to the new date. Full terms are detailed in the booking agreement.

One last thing - do you do New Year's Eve party photography?

As much as I do love to shoot an amazing party, New Year's Eve is one of the few days I always take off no matter what. Not even for Tom Cruise. Not that he's asked. Okay who am I kidding, I think I'd probably be available for Tom Cruise's New Year's Eve party. But generally speaking, no, sorry. Hope it's amazing though!
