Over the years I’ve photographed events for a number of London law companies and groups, including the DELF group – the Defence Extradition Lawyer’s Forum. Some of their members work for the renowned London law firm SMW Law, who invited me to photograph their 30th anniversary celebrations at Wilton’s Music Hall this year.
Even after almost 20 years photographing events and parties in London there’s still a ton of venues I’ve not been to yet, and Wilton’s Music Hall is one of them, but what a hidden gem it is! Tucked away down a side street in Shadwell, ten minutes walk from Tower Hill tube, this Grade II listed building oozes history, with raked, wonky floors drawing its patrons towards the the multi-level stage, all under a grand arched ceiling. Walking through the doors of Wilton’s Music Hall feels like stepping into a time machine and being whisked back to the 1800s – indeed the period feel has made it the location for a number of movies over the years, including The Krays and Sherlock Holmes.
Mostly the venue hosts performances, and in a way the 30th anniversary of SMW Law was no exception as they’d booked London’s best karaoke rock band, and one of my favourite London event entertainers: the legendary Rockaoke crew! I’ve known these guys for over a decade now and whenever I see them on the bill at an event I’m photographing I know it’s going to be a great night full of fantastic moments to immortalise in photos.
Here’s some of my favourite photos from the party – if you like my style of corporate event photography you can find more info here, and then get in touch for a quote any time.
