Duck and Waffle is on the top floor of 110 Bishopsgate, with stunning views overlooking London. It’s also open 24/7, making it one of the most interesting and exciting venues I’d never photographed before, until Edoardo asked me to photograph his 18th birthday party there this summer.

I first met Edoardo at the 18th birthday party for his friends Aleks, Anna and Lottie at Notting Hill Arts Club a few months before, so he knew my documentary photography style would be just right for his party. They took over the entire top floor and started off with cocktails as the sun set over the London horizon, then dancing into the small hours with a DJ.

I really love to capture little details as well as the action, such as the stunning ceiling-mounted pieces made with coloured bottles, and all the pre-party cocktail-making prep going on before guests arrived. Then as the sun set the city lit up like a toy town, and I got some fantastic abstract shots combining a shot overlooking London by night, and the reflections of the amazing dancefloor lights in the window I was shooting through.

If you like my style of documentary event photography and need a photographer for your own party you can find all the details and get in touch right here. Thanks for visiting!
