One sunny Saturday in May I was invited to join a group of Americans taking an evening cruise and dinner down the Thames about the famous Silver Sturgeon luxury river yacht, part of the Woods’ Silver Fleet. What a wonderful way to spend an evening!
Embarking from and returning to the Savoy Pier by The Savoy Hotel, the cruise lasted around three hours with drinks aplenty and food by Jamie Oliver’s team, but the highlight was definitely the bonanza of historic sights to be had, taking in the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Houses Of Parliament, Big Ben, The O2 Dome, Thames Barrier and plenty more. I’d never been on a river cruise before but enjoying these sights from a luxury yacht drifting down the Thames as the sun sets is most definitely the way to see them.
