I was commissioned to capture a morning briefing conference held by the National Grid ESO at Battersea Power Station’s Control Room A. The National Grid ESO is the UK’s electricity service operator, and the briefing and conference addressed upcoming plans to create a more sustainable energy network.
It was my first time photographing a corporate event at Control Room A, and I just love the space. I’d characterise it as a long, fairly narrow space which lends itself perfectly to this set-up with registration, breakfast, and networking at one end, and a conference stage and seating at the other. And I just love the work they’ve put into restoring the old equipment – I’m sure the space never looked quite this shiny and grand, but it makes for a dramatic setting and the perfect choice for an energy industry conference.
