Back in March I spent a couple of days following Sir Richard Branson around the Virgin HQ in Paddington, documenting his day meeting and greeting a variety of business partners, VIPs and other visitors. At one point towards the end of a very busy day he stepped out onto the roof of the Battleship Building to record a video greeting for one of the many projects he’s involved in, and I grabbed the opportunity to shoot some candid portraits as he gazed up into the near-twilight and pointed out some of the sights to be seen from the lofty vantage point. It was around 7pm so it was getting pretty dark, but there was a twinkle of colour left in the sky so I pushed up the ISO on my D700 to around 4000 and got some great shots.

A few weeks ago I was approached by Virgin Money who wanted to license one of them for a newspaper ad they had planned, and I’m pleased to say that last week the ad ran in a bunch of the UK’s press including The Guardian, Times, Daily Mail, Express, Telegraph and others. It’s always fantastic to see my work in print but I was out of the country at the time so some friends are digging out hard copies for me to get a clipping, and in the meantime Jo at Virgin Money kindly sent over a digital copy for me to share.
