A fiftieth birthday is a great opportunity to get all your family and friends together for a party. And that’s the perfect excuse to get a 50th birthday party photographer along to capture all those lovely magical moments together. And that’s where I come in!
Some photographers concentrate on getting loads of posed photos facing the camera, but for me these photos are meant to capture real moments and real memories, not stiff posed shots.
So I prefer to get involved in the party, mingling and chatting and maybe sharing a glass of something bubbly with you, while I look for all those special candid moments you’ll want to have photographs of. Acting more like a guest myself means your actual party guests start to feel more at ease with me around, and won’t feel they have to keep posing for me – although if they do that’s fine too!
We actually started at V’s home where guests were enjoying the nearby fireworks show, and we got a few family group shots to start with. But for this 50th birthday Casa Cruz in Holland Park was the main venue, which has a function room upstairs perfect for a birthday party. There’s even a lovely balcony area to spread out into, but being November it was a little cold to enjoy that!
