URGENT: Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan (20GB) Annual is being killed off for new subscribers from JANUARY 15TH 2025 – make sure you have an active annual subscription before that date if you want to continue on that plan! More info here: Adobe 20GB Photography Plan pricing changes FAQs

If you’re a professional photographer you likely rely on Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. The cheapest official way to get hold of these is the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan (20GB) including both apps and 20GB of Adobe cloud storage for £119 a year. Recently Adobe raised the price of the monthly option by 50%, the first major increase in over ten years.

However, they’re keeping the annual price the same for existing subscribers, which represents an even better deal now! I remember the days of needing to pay about £1,500 for the entire Creative Suite even if you just wanted Photoshop, or £800 to update, so £119 a year for LrC and PS is pretty amazing.

BUT – Adobe are discontinuing the annual subscription option for new subscribers after January 15th 2025. So if you aren’t already on the annual plan you need to start before that date.

How to get a discount on the annual Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan (20GB)

If you’re already on the annual 20GB Photography Plan then depending where you live there’s typically a cheaper way to buy another annual subscription than paying full price every year – buying it from Amazon when it’s on sale.

(UPDATE: once Adobe kills the annual plan for new subscribers in January 2025 this deal may no longer be available on Amazon, but worth checking anyway)

For the last few years every Prime Day and Black Friday Amazon has sold official activation codes for up to half price, with a maximum of two codes per customer. You receive the codes immediately on Amazon’s website, then all you need to do is log into your Adobe.com account and enter them on their activation screen (there’ll usually be a direct link to this from the Amazon order page).

Step 1: ensure you already have an annual subscription to the plan. If you don’t, buy one before January 15th 2025 as it won’t be available to new subscribers after that.

Step 2: find the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan (20GB) on your country’s Amazon site (you could also buy it for the first time from here if you don’t already have it)

Step 3: bookmark the link and head back there on Prime Day or Black Friday

Step 4: when the Plan is discounted buy one or two codes – it’s usually limited to two per customer per promo

Step 5: go to Your Orders on Amazon and collect the two codes, they’ll usually be available immediately

Step 6: Log in to your Adobe account, then go to https://redeem.adobe.com/

Step 7: enter the first code and redeem, then enter the second code and redeem that too

Step 8: head to your ‘Manage Account’ page (usually click the avatar top right, then click ‘Manage Account’)

Step 9: your subscription period should update to reflect your purchase within the next hour, but usually within ten minutes – you’ll need to reload for the update to show up.

And that’s it! If you do this twice a year you can end up with four years extension for roughly the same price as two, which is pretty great if you’re a professional photographer who relies on LrC and Photoshop for your work. But it’s also great for amateurs too, especially if you’ve been subscribing monthly and spending more than £120 a year.

But remember you need to have an active annual sub before January 15th 2025 in order to keep subbing annually, and you can’t let it lapse or you’ll lose it completely.
