What's the difference between a 'private event' and a 'corporate event'?
Private events are things like birthdays, anniversaries, house-warmings, etc. Corporate event photography covers conferences, awards, company Christmas parties, etc.
How much is photography? What is your day rate?
Pricing varies depending on the details. Events are typically charged by the hour with a minimum of two hours; everything else is typically charged by day rates plus licensing. Get in touch with the details and I can send you a tailored quote.
How many photos do we get?
It very much depends on the job! For most private and corporate events there's at least 40-60 photos per hour of shooting, depending on the event and guest numbers, and often a few more than that. For other shoots it depends what you need - let me know!
Is editing included?
All quotes include a basic round of editing to match my style. Any additional editing requested is charged at hourly from £60/hr. I may outsource complex editing to specialists, charged at cost plus an admin fee.
Can we get the raw files to edit ourselves?
I can provide unedited raw files to corporate and PR clients that need to edit in-house to match a campaign style. All other clients receive edited high res JPGs.
How can we use the images?
For corporate, PR, or any other commercial shoots I'll include all the usage you need in the quote - unlimited in-house and editorial use is included as standard. For private events you get unlimited personal use so you can make your own prints and share on social media etc.
Do you take bookings outside London?
Absolutely, I can travel anywhere you need me.
What are your travel costs?
Public transport into London is included in every quote. If I need to drive or take a taxi (e.g. to carry equipment) I may charge taxi fees, parking, Congestion Charge, etc. Outside of London the cost depends on the journey, get in touch for a quote.
How do we book?
When you're ready I'll send a custom booking page to fill in, and for new clients there may be a reservation fee to pay, deducted from the balance. No bookings are complete until you receive an explicit booking confirmation email from us.
How far in advance should we book?
If you've got a date in mind it's never too early to book - weekends in particular are often booked months in advance, all year round as I don't really have a 'quiet season'. If the date isn't important I can usually fit you in within 2-3 weeks depending what you need.
What's the best way to pay?
I take bank transfer (BACS) as standard. If it's absolutely impossible to pay by BACS without a huge faff then I can set up one-off credit card invoices but there's typically a (very) small fee to pay to cover the admin that goes into setting it up for you.
Is VAT included?
At this time I'm not VAT-registered, so I don't charge VAT.
Do you offer charity / not-for-profit discounts?
I offer a set number of charity discounts a year and favour charities that have made a difference to my family. I don't typically offer an NFP discount but please let me know your budget and what you need when you get in touch, and I'll let you know what I can do.
What if we need to cancel or postpone?
This is handled on a case-by-case basis. For event cancellations specifically, the reservation fee is typically non-refundable, up to 100% of the balance depending on the specifics.
Do you do on-site printing or a photobooth?
I don't provide these services myself, but I do know some excellent photo booth companies that I can introduce you to as one of my clients.
Do you photograph weddings?
Yep, I shoot weddings and elopements all over the UK and even abroad, and I make time for 25 full day weddings a year. Check out my wedding photography website for galleries and lots more info about how it all works.
