How much does photography cost?
Every shoot and every client is different, so you'll get the best, most realistic quote by dropping us a line with a few details. If you have a different budget it's helpful to let us know in case we can help. Please note we only provide quotes by email - we can't provide the necessary detail over the phone. Just drop us a line through the contact form, we're usually able to respond the same day.
Is editing included?
All quotes include a basic round of editing to correct for colour, tone, and exposure, in line with our portfolio style. Any additional editing is charged hourly from £75/hr. We may outsource specialist retouching, charged at cost plus an admin fee.
Is travel included?
It depends on the shoot and we'll specify in your quote. Where travel is extra it's typically £20 plus VAT on public transport before 10pm. If we need to drive or take a taxi (e.g. to carry equipment) we charge a fee to cover fares, parking, Congestion Charge, etc. Outside of London the cost is based on time and mileage and we'll estimate before booking.
How many edited photographs do we get?
It varies for each commission. For most private and corporate events there's usually around 60-80 photos per hour of shooting, depending on guest numbers, venue size, schedule, etc. For PR commissions we'll provide enough edited photographs to meet the brief.
How can we use the photographs?
Our standard Sole User license always includes unlimited personal use, in-house use, editorial use, and organic PR use, and can include additional use as required by our clients at booking. We can also easily extend licensing later, for example to include a new advertising campaign.
Please note we remain the copyright holder of our work as per UK copyright law, licensing our clients to use the images however they need to. We do not provide a 'work for hire' service.
Can we get the raw files to edit ourselves?
Typically our clients receive edited high resolution JPGs. If commercial clients legitimately require access to the original raw files so they can edit in-house to match a campaign style we can arrange that for an extra fee.
Who will our photographer be?
Owen shoots around 95% of our bookings himself. If we need additional photographers or if Owen isn't available when you enquire then we have a range of Associates we can call on, all of whom are professional photographers in their own right.
When will we receive all the edited photos?
We aim to deliver most shoots within 2-3 business days, although some may take a little longer depending on the requirements and our schedule. If we have no shoots or edits scheduled on the day after your shoot (Monday to Friday) we may be able to deliver in full the next day at no extra cost. However, this isn't guaranteed.
If you require guaranteed same-day or next-day delivery of the full shoot we offer this as a premium service, subject to availability. The sooner you request this the more likely we can block the time into our schedule.
However, we find most clients who want next-day delivery are very happy with just a few key images overnight, and the rest within 2-3 days. We can usually provide a selection like this at no extra cost, just let us know before the event so we can earmark images as we shoot.
Do you provide videography, on-site printing, or a photobooth?
We specialise in photography and don't provide these services ourselves. If you're one of our existing clients we can introduce you to some excellent videographers and photo booth companies that we've worked alongside.
How do we book and pay?
For new clients we'll send a booking form that includes a booking agreement page we'll both sign. New clients booking more than 8 weeks in advance may also need to pay a reservation fee upfront, deducted from the balance. For repeat clients the booking process is more streamlined. We take payment by bank transfer (BACS) as standard and you'll receive a receipt by email.
Do you offer discounts for charities and NFPs?
As a rule we don't offer a discount for charities and NFPs, with some rare exceptions for specific charities that have helped our families directly. That said if you want to request a discount please include your budget and if we're unable to help we may be able to recommend a cheaper photographer to try, although they would typically be much less experienced.
What if we need to cancel or postpone?
This is handled on a case-by-case basis. For event cancellations specifically a reservation fee of 40% may be payable upon cancellation (if not paid already), plus up to 100% of the balance may be due depending on the specifics, especially the notice given.
Do you photograph weddings?
Yes, Owen shoots weddings and elopements all over the UK and even abroad, making time for up to 20 full day weddings a year. Check out Owen’s wedding photography website for galleries and lots more info about how it all works.
