For most people booking an event photographer is an entirely new experience, but don’t worry – I’m a very friendly chap and happy to help! When you choose me the most important thing you’re paying for is the time, experience, and expertise I’ll dedicate to looking after you from start to finish, so you can trust me to take care of the event photography while you enjoy your party. My service starts from the moment you book with a chat on the phone to plan out what you need from your event photos, right through to helping create the perfect memento afterward, in your digital archive, app, and album.

On this page I’ll walk you through how it all works, answer a few frequently asked questions and share my basic event photography package prices. Then to check my availability swing by my Contact page and we’ll take it from there. Speak to you soon!

So how does it work?

First, get in touch to see if I’m free. Just send me a few details including the date, location and an idea of timings and I’ll get back to you in two shakes of a lambs tail with some options for you.

If there’s anything you’re not sure about yet – such as how long you should have photography for, or whether you should get an album – I’ll be happy to talk it through with you before we book anything, with no obligation at all.

On the day just relax and enjoy the party. I’ll be in touch a few days beforehand to see if there’s anything new I need to know, then I’ll arrive around 15 minutes early to say hello, and after that you can pretty much forget about me and enjoy yourselves!

My approach is totally candid, or ‘reportage’ style. That means I simply fit in around you like I’m a guest with a camera, looking for natural moments full of happy people, capturing how it felt to be there. No need to keep stopping and posing, unless you want to!

I work my magic on your pictures. The week after the party I’ll get started editing and processing each photo so it looks as lovely as you remember it, and I’ll present all the finished images in a private online gallery for you to share with your guests.

From there you’ll be able to browse the full collection, choose favourites for an album, and download a high resolution digital archive to your hard drive for safekeeping. Simple!

Albums & Apps

I think your favourites deserve to be cherished, not left gathering digital dust on a hard drive. Collecting them all in a beautifully printed book is the easiest way to do that, presenting all your memories as real photos you can touch, and curl up with on the sofa to enjoy in comfort. It’s so much more special than sitting down at your computer or swiping through tiny pictures on your phone. All you have to do is pick your favourites and I’ll take care of the rest.

When I design a book for you I’ll also create your very own photofilm of all the highlights, and include it in a custom smartphone app, so you’ll have your memories in your pocket wherever you go. And, even better, you can share the app with anyone you like, completely free, with just a couple of taps.

Frequently asked questions

How do we book?

Just get in touch to tell me a bit about your event and if I’m available (fingers crossed!) we’ll work out a package for you, then I’ll send you a link to my booking service to reserve the date. There’s a deposit to pay and a booking agreement for us both to sign, then the date’s reserved and you’re all booked in.

How many photos do we get?

Every event is different, so depending on what you’ve got planned I usually deliver around 60-80 finished photos per hour that I’m with you. They’ll all be in your online gallery, and included as high resolution digital negatives in your downloadable archive.

Can we share the gallery with our guests?

Absolutely, please do – I think your guests will love the photos too, and it’s all part of the service! Everyone will be able to download a small watermarked digital for themselves, or purchase a beautiful premium print directly from the gallery.

Should we get an album?

It’s completely optional, but for things like birthdays I honestly believe you won’t regret it – a beautiful book full of your favourite photographs feels so much more special than digitals on a hard drive. Just choose your favourites in the gallery and I’ll design it all for you. Easy!

Will the photographs be colour or black-and-white?

I find that B&W suits some photos really well, and other images will really sing in colour, so your finished gallery will be a bit of both. I’ll give everything a creative polish that suits the occasion, but I avoid heavy Instagram-style effects and fashion-style ‘airbrush’ retouching of people. Your family and friends much prefer the real you!

When do we receive our photos?

For family events & celebrations it usually takes around one to two weeks to process everything and prepare your gallery, sometimes a little longer at busier times of year. Your album is usually in your hands around 3-4 weeks after it’s sent to be printed, and your high-resolution Digital Archive is usually ready to download a few weeks after the gallery opens.

Can you provide a photobooth?

I don’t provide a photobooth myself, but I know some amazing people who do so if you’d like one let me know and I’ll introduce you! Photobooths go really well with my candid style, allowing guests to get a fun snap of themselves in their own time while I focus on the rest of the room partying the night away.

What if we need to cancel or postpone?

If you need to cancel the deposit is non-refundable, and depending how much notice is given there may be a further fee to cover the costs of turning down other enquiries. If you need to postpone I’ll hopefully be able to transfer your fees to the new date, depending on availability. Full cancellation and postponement terms are detailed in the booking agreement.

My all-inclusive package

My digital-only package includes all the basics, with no hidden extras: a telephone consultation • photography & processing • travel in London • private gallery hosting for three months • a downloadable digital archive • and an optional custom smartphone app to send to your guests

Pricing varies depending on location and duration, and for corporate events I also take into account any commercial usage you need. For events in London the package above starts at £295 including two hours photography plus a half-day of processing, then £80 per additional hour. Depending on your plans most people are happy with just three or four hours photography, but I can stay as long as you like.

My hardback photographic books include a design session, printing and binding, and courier delivery in the UK, and start at £189 when you include one in your package (£210 separately). I’ll also upgrade your smartphone app to include a photofilm of all the highlights, absolutely free.
